On October 16th we had our first annual "An Evening with the Thomases." This was actually a birthday present from McKay, Stephanie and Rachel to Rob. It was a family talent show where Rob was the MC. Totally fun, amazing, and spectacular! We all had a super time and hope to do it every year.
The kids came early and decorated for the evening. It was all very fancy!
After dinner (Steph's chicken soup in bread bowls), the show began. As mentioned above, Rob was the Master of Ceremonies. He had prepared patter--interesting tidbits and jokes. He did a fabulous job!
Here is everyone (except me). Rob, Steph, McKay, My mom, Skjelse, Greg and Rach.

Let the talent begin! Rachel clogged. She hasn't clogged for ages and it was so fun to see her clogging again. She's good!

Skjelse showed how she can scratch her wrist with the same hand. Quite unusual!
By request (my mom), everyone who knew Jaberwocky performed it.

McKay read original poetry. He's good!

Darling fable by Greg. He illustrated the story as well as told it.

Rachel and I demonstrated our amazing geographic knowledge by reciting (by song) all the countries of Africa (there are 54 of them).
tephanie sang an originSal song that she had written for McKay. "Falladays."

Greg demonstrated his wrestling skills (he was an all-state wrestler in high school)

Rachel and McKay showed their amazing and uncanny ability to read each others' minds. Pretty cool!

McKay and Steph demonstrated their combined musical talent as Steph played the piano and McKay played the bass. Originally he read poetry while he did it. Fun! Then my mom requested some jazz.

I *love* this idea! I definitely want to do it with my family. It looks like so much fun!
Whoa! This looks awesome! I would have loved to have seen the mind reading.
What a great tradition. I would love to be able to watch some of that. Did you get any on video? Oh, and tell Rach I love her dress! :)
What a fun fun night! My family would never go for something like this! I always loved to listen to Rob talk--he (and you) always have the best stories.
Great job on the blog and all your adventures.
